Confused About HRT?

Are you confused about hormone replacement therapy?

Is it safe to use hormones?

What Are Your Options?

Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, pain, fatigue, brain fog, and low libido? Is your significant other experiencing loss of energy, loss of muscle mass, increased body fat, loss of libido, loss of a morning erection and depression? Did you know that low testosterone can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease?

One of the most disturbing things I have encountered in my practice is women and men being treated as protocols. Menopausal women have been treated per protocol for years...as if all women are the same. There has been little consideration as to how each woman differs in terms of health risks such as bone or heart, diet, lifestyle, need for supplements, and finally her personal hormone levels. As each woman enters menopause, she should be individually supported, medically evaluated for hormone levels and risk assessments such as bone or heart, diet, lifestyle, need for supplements, and finally her personal hormone levels, and given the appropriate advice tailored to her particular needs. Therefore I recommend being tested properly.

The Menopause Profile identifies deficiencies (or excesses) of important sex hormones estradiol, estrone, estriol, progesterone, and testosterone. It can provide guidance in the therapeutic intervention of several conditions associated with sex hormone imbalances in women:

Endometriosis
Breast Cancer
Hypertension and Heart Disease
Osteoporosis
Low libido

Men can experience Andropause with clear cut symptoms.

With advancing age, levels of bioavailable testosterone in men often plummet, corresponding to a marked decrease in sexual function. By the time a man reaches age 50, his bioavailable levels of testosterone may be only half their youthful levels. Significantly, testosterone loss has been shown to precede-not simply accompany--both a drop in sexual interest and frequency of erections. Experts on sexual dysfunction specifically advise that testosterone be measured in male patients with low sex drive and/or decreased testicular size as well as Cortisol and DHEA.

The Male Hormone Profile measures circadian activity of the free fraction of testosterone by analyzing 4 saliva samples collected at specific times over a 24-hour period. AndroEssence provides a focused overview of hormonal balance in men, to evaluate dynamics of sex steroid metabolism that can profoundly affect a man's health throughout his lifetime.

Some 3 million American women take estrogen replacement therapy and men are missing the boat altogether!. It's quite effective at alleviating menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness but there are risks associated with HRT.

Estrogen therapy can also cause a whole host of nasty side effects. These include nausea... headaches... breast tenderness... hair loss... and abdominal cramps. Plus, depression... dizziness... bloating.., body hair... uterine fibroids... and abnormal vaginal bleeding.

What's more, several studies show that taking estrogen can increase your risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer by as much as 13.9 times! On the front page of the Daily News there was an article about recent studies that show long term use of HRT (hormone replacement therapy can cause cancer in 80% of the women tested!

Luckily, you don't have to expose yourself to these risks. And you don't have to suffer any side effects, either. That's because clinical studies show that an herb called black cohosh works much better than estrogen. In one study, women were divided into three groups: one group received estrogen, another received a placebo (dummy pill), and a third received black cohosh. Result: The black cohosh group got better results on all symptoms, including hot flashes, fatigue, and mood swings. Even more amazing, the researchers found that black cohosh actually reversed menopausal changes in the vagina. There was an increased proliferation of vaginal tissue...plus improved vaginal muscle tone and a decrease in vaginal dryness.

On the other hand, I have some great news. Phytoestrogens are a safe source that can significantly mitigate hot flashes, improve bone density and reduce breast cancer risk all in one. A product called Femme Harmony supports menopause-related discomforts including hot flashes, anxiety, water retention, sleep disruption, and depression. Ingredients in this synergitic formula like S-equol, DIM calcium d-glucarate, and hops encourage healthy hormone balance and metabolism of estrogen and progesterone.. So not only are your symptoms mitagated, but your risk of developing breast, uterine or brain cancer are greatly reduced. Buy

Another product that reduces menopause symptoms is Menopause Relief. It eases distressing symptoms menopause, headaches, night sweats, breast tenderness, mood swings, lethargy and hot flashes. Provides welcome relief. Buy
